Undergoing construction....

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to give all my followers, and the odd random blog finders a heads up that my blog "Spa-ces" will be undergoing some construction.  And when you see me next, my blog will have changed names, but I will still be blogging about the same stuff.

Reason being, I find that not everyone gets the concept of the name.  And it causes some to fall upon this blog not for what they are looking for.  And some, that are looking for beauty tips, complete miss my blog.  I find that because of the name, it doesn't popup enough on the web were it needs to.  So by changing the name, to something people can relate to better.  It might help other randoms looking for help, find this blog easier. :)  I will touch base with you all again, once things are close to being finished.  So please stay toned! ;)

lots of <3

Finally I can see in COLOUR!!

Good day goddesses of the world!

So, for YEARS I have been searching for the right kind of purple contact lenses.  Ever since I was 12 years old, I remember seeing my brother's friend with purple lenses.  And from that day forward, I knew I HAD to get myself a pair of purple contacts.  But at that time I didn't need glasses and plus, I was only 12. lol

I have seen regular colour contact lenses everywhere.  But not so many purple ones that I LOVE...until now!  I have finally hit the jackpot!  I found these awesomely gorgeous circle lenses in my favourite colour, PURPLE.  And I just HAD to share them with you.  These are the GEO Angel series circle lenses in purple.  I just love them!

Circle Lens Vial & Info:

LOT represents the product Batch Code.
Hour glass image represents the expiry date:  2013/12 (December 2013).  They say these lenses can be stored in their vials for up to 2 years prior to opening.  Once opened, you can use them for up to 1 year.  If properly taken care of.
B.C represents the Base Curve of the contact lens, which in this case is: 8.60.
DIA represents the Diameter size of the contact, this is the complete size of the contact lens that will cover your eye.  This contact is 14.0mm which is more of a normal size contact. My regular, no colour lenses are a 14.0mm DIA as well.  So these circle lenses I got, are no different from my regular everyday wear lenses in size.  There are other circle lenses that can go up to a DIA size of 15.0 mm.  This look enhances the size of your iris A LOT more.  People call it the "Dolly look" effect.  But, if you do go this large.  You have to remember, the larger the DIA, the more the contact covers your eye.  And that means there is less oxygen access for your eye.  And this can lead to eye problems.  So if you do go bigger on the diameter.  Please remember to wear with care! ;)  Don't try and wear them for longer then 8 hours, if you don't have to.  I only wear these lenses for special occasions.  They are not an everyday use contact for me.
Soft Contact Lens
Water Content:  38%
Comfort Level out of 10:  9 - reason being, my base curve is 8.7. They are to fit people with a base curve between 8.4-8.8. But I personally felt, that I would feel the need to blink a little more, then when I have my regular colourless lenses in.  But still, these are great circle lenses.  I know I will be purchasing more GEO Medical circle lenses in the near future. n_n

Before putting in your new circle lenses.  I know its very exciting when you first receive them.  But you have to always remember; after you take the new lens out of the vial. You have to place it in a new contact lens case, with clean contact solution.  Let it soak for a minimum of 6-8 hours.  I personally soak mine for 24 hours.  Just to be safe.  I find soaking them over night is best, cause you sleep through 1/3 of the waiting time. If you are like me and soak it for 24 hours.  But I know for some of you, who can't wait to try them on for the first time.  Try and wait AT LEAST 6 hours, prior to putting them in.  Cause the solution in that vial will sting the eyes, if not properly soaked.  Do it over night, so it won't seem like an eternity. ;)  Cause then at least, it doesn't really feel like you had to do any waiting. Cause you were sleeping!

The solution I use, is the "Alcon Opti-Free Replenish" contact solution.  Which you can find at any local pharmacy.  I think its a great product, cause it's a multi-purpose disinfecting solution for your contacts.  It does all the cleaning work for you. ;)  I always get the twin pack.

Even though I do LOVE these circle lenses.  I do strongly recommend & advise you, especially if you do not wear or need to wear contact lenses.  Please consult your eye doctor prior to purchasing circle lenses.  You are gifted with only one set of eyes.  So please, do not take them for granted.  Do your research, and look into the risks about wearing circle lenses.  And how to take care of them properly.  My lenses are perception lenses.  I have been wearing contact lenses for just under 10 years now.  So I am familiar with how to properly use and take care of them. The risks & the what to do and what not to do.

Before I purchased my very first regular soft contact lenses I went to see my eye doctor about information on wearing them.  Take care of these beauties, because if you don't, you might not be gifted with the sight of seeing all things that are beautiful. ;)

Lashing out!

Are you Real or Fake?  That is the question...

I say, lets get FAKE Lovelies!  False lashes can be a great and fun experience.  And yet, a tedious thing too for some.  People may think false lashes are all the same.  On the contrary, there are actually A LOT of little things you should pay attention to.  To make sure you are buying the right ones for you!  If you are ready to "lash out" with falsies, make sure you have an idea of the style/look you are wanting to pull off for that certain day or event.  I would suggest the best place to start, is buy a haul of false lashes off of eBay!  Just to get your feet wet.  And if you don't want to get that many to start out with.  If you are brand new to the falsies life style.  Just go to your local retail store like "Wal-Mart", "Zellers", "Shoppers Drug Mart", etc. and buy a single pair of false lashes with lash glue to try out first.

If you find that you like the false look.  Then consider eBay, and purchase this haul of falsies I purchased! ;)  There are 6 different styles of falsies I used in this post, all in which came in the eBay false lashes haul.

I will be doing another post on false lashes that will compare different lashes. Including the ones I purchased from E.L.F, and Ardell, but at a later time.  I just thought I would do a quick post mainly on the eBay lashes, for now.  So check them out!

Lashes 006

Remember, practice makes perfect!  I also did a review on the eBay seller, where I bought these false lashes in another post, if you want, go check it out.  I used all 6 different false lash looks in this post.

So, if you like the looks, I suggest you buy from them.  And if not the seller I bought mine from, try another trusted seller on eBay.  Cause, I don't think you will find a better deal then what eBay offers.  Usually on eBay, they sell 10 pairs to 60 pairs of false lashes for dirt cheap.  I bought 60 pairs of false lashes in 6 different styles.  Just so I can test out the different styles and looks.  Just so I can see which look I like best for everyday wear, to evening/night wear.  Everyone has their own preference, there is no right or wrong here.  That's why there is such a large variety of false lashes out there.  Everybody's different, no judgement here.

These lashes are great!  I LOVE, LOVE the thicker more dramatic false lashes.  Since I am asian I don't have a lot of eyelashes to start with...:(  So seeing myself with full lashes is a nice change!  And if you are asian like me, even if you're not asian and just LOVE overly dramatic lashes.  You NEED to buy this 60  pair assorted false lashes kit!  There are 3 thick and dramatic style lashes.  And then, there are 3 natural looking lashes.  So if you are tired of the dramatic lashes, and want to tone it down a bit for the day.  You can use these more natural looking ones.  It is the PERFECT combination of false lashes.

eBay fever!

Bonjour mes amis!

So, I was running out of receiving items in the mail from eBay. lol  So I had to make another few eBay orders.  I didn't go too over board THIS time.  But, I just can't seem to stop... :s  I have offically diagniosed myself with "ebay fever!"LOL  How can you NOT get eBay fever, when there are SO MANY cool and awesome deals you can find.  I have sadly taken one of my friends to the other side, and caused her to get addicted to eBay as well...lol  I must admit, I was one of those people, that was skeptical about online shopping especially with eBay.  But now, I am a true believer in online shopping. Hahaha  But I did shop with caution, cause you can never be to careful...;)

So my most recent purchases on ebay were:

10 piece cuticle oil pens by O.P.I

88 warm colour eyeshadow palette

Even though, I only purchased a couple items for this time.  There are many more things, I have my eye on, just waiting in my eBay watch list. Haha  So stay tuned for those purchases later down the road. ;)

"Minx" it up.

Greetings loves!

Have you ever noticed the nails on celebrities lately?  That gorgeous chrome like effect or overly patterned nail print?  Well, Minx is the answer!  It's a newer nail technology being used on nails all around the world starting with the celebrities!  But now, it has become more known to everyone, and is available to the general public. Other nail companies are coming out with their own version of "Minx" nail wraps.  Like Sally Hansen for instants; they have come out with their own nail wraps.  Which can be purchased at your local retail stores like, Wal-Mart and Shoppers Drug Mart.  But Minx was the original company to introduce this new look.

I find, I would only use this technique for a SPECIAL occasion.  The wraps do last for a long while.  Longer then regular nail polish.  No fuse with waiting for it to dry, and no more colour chipping.  But for the price, I couldn't bring myself to using these EVERY TIME I wanted to decorate my nails.  I do LOVE the chrome shine effect.  But there are nail polishes out there that can create that similar chrome look too.

Plus, my Konad stamping kit does a great job too, on its own.  So I can always get the chrome effect nail polishes to use along with my Konad stamping kit. ;) It may take more patients and time, but I like to play with my nail colours and stamps.  SO it doesn't really bother me. :)

But, I still would like to try these nail wraps out anyway.  And, like I always say:  When in doubt, go to eBay. Ha ha  I did in fact find MANY nail wraps selling on eBay.  So, I of course purchased some!  I didn't choose to purchase the original Minx nail wraps though.  I went with the imitation ones. Once I receive my imitation nail wraps, I will do a review on those asap!  So stay "wrapped" in. ;)

My lips are sealed

Good evening gorgeous beings!

I just wanted to ask you all one question.  When you here the name "Violent Lips". . . does that name ring a bell with anyone?  If not, you're not the only one. lol  Apparently it is a new "hot" look/trend.  I am noticing this look surfacing more and more these days.  So I thought I would mention it, for those who are unaware.

Do you remember when you were younger, and you would get those rub on tattoos as a prize in a cereal box, or in that circus coloured popcorn treat box?  I can't remember what that coloured popcorn was called.  I never really ate it, I just wanted it for the prize inside. Hahaha

So anyway, there are lip tattoos that you can purchase now!  They come in various designs and they are called "Violent Lips".  They showed up in early 2011.  And I know it is now 2012.  But I still wanted to share my thoughts.  This product was created by a father and his two daughters. They were playing one day with their mom's temporary tattoos.  The one daughter chose to place the tattoo on their lips, instead of their arm or whatever other body part kids choose to stick tattoos on.  And that's how the idea was born!  I love the story behind this product,  And best of all, they do not test on animals, just supermodels! ;)  If you are a fan of America's Next Top Model.  This season cycle 18 "British Invasion" the girls actually showcased these lovelies.  They sported their national flags, on their lips. :D

These lip tats are said to last between 4-8 hours.  But seeing some peoples reviews on this product, it depends on your day.  In time it does tend to flake off, and make your lips feel dry throughout the day.  And so some suggest you have lip balm at hand.  To help sooth the feeling of dry lips.  I think I would probably buy these to go with a halloween costume or something.  But I don't think I would wear it out, as a normal everyday look. lol  I must say, I REALLY like the glitter effect ones! ;)  I think those ones will have to be the first ones I try out!

Wal-Mart. Home art.

Hello, hello!

So I thought I would share this great tip with all those "frugal" modern day couples and singles out there, for home decor.  Watch for your Wal-Mart flyers!!  They are always having sales on home decor.  Like area rugs, storage bins, lamps, benches, etc.  Instead of paying over $100.00 for one item.  Get it for less, but only if you pay attention to your Wal-Mart flyers!!  Thank goodness for my mom, the other day she pulled out last weeks flyers; which expire tomorrow.  And I was scrolling through it with her.  And I stumbled upon these must have items for the humble abode! ;)

5' X 8' Area Rug

3 Drawer Storage Cart in PURPLE!!!

For my area rug replacement.  We had to get a new one, due to my clumsiness.  I accidentally spilt my nail polish on our living room area rug...whoops! lol  Can you find my oops in the photo below...? haha

So when I say that Wal-Mart was selling area rugs for under $40.00 I HAD to go check it out.  So the lovely area rug you saw in the above picture.  Replaced this area rug, we had from before.  I decided to go a different way this time, compared to my choice from before.  Because I wanted to create a different feel this time.  The old area rug was a much lighter colour compared to our new replacement area rug.  The new one is more simple.  Where it only has two colours opposed to the old one, where it had a variety of colours.  I'm very happy with our choice. :)

After
Before

As for the 3 drawer storage cart, I use it to hold ALL my nail polishes and everything nail related!  I LOVE it, because the drawers are nice and deep.  And they are clear, so I can see what's in each drawer without having to open every drawer, and remind myself what each drawer consists of. :D  And it has cute little wheels on the bottom, for easy maneuver.  I think I might just have to go back and buy myself a second one...;)  One issue I have with this though, is that it is plastic. So its not 100% solid, and all my nail polishes are weighing down the drawers in the center...So I think I might have to buy myself second one to help spread out the nail polish weight... D:  Or, I will have to figure out another way to store my nail polish.

Finding...Fimo!?

Hello, hello my loves!

So, I don't know if you have heard of "Fimo" before.  I'm sure many of you have seen it around, you just don't know it...It is a very cute way to dress up your accessories and nails with a 3D effect.  And we all know, now a days its ALL about 3D.Haha  3D TVs, 3D movies, 3D game systems, EVERYTHING 3D!  So why not add nail art design to the 3D world.

First off, what is "fimo" you ask?  For those of you that aren't familiar with it.  Fimo is a name for a brand of polymer clay. It is made by a German company called Staedtler, sold worldwide.  Fimo canes or polymer clay, can come in MANY different cute designs and images.  You can get pre-cut fimo nail art.  Or fimo canes, which you can cut yourself.  Some people will even create their own designs by combining/moulding different colours of soft fimo clay together.

I bought my Fimo canes off eBay, yet again!  I purchased 100 pc for $6.00 and it came with a cutting blade, which helps cutting the fimo MUCH easier.  I LOVE this stuff.  I can't wait to get them cut up, and start creating my nail design ideas. So eventually, I can share my creative ideas with all of you!

All "Plugged-In"

Greetings, all beauties of the world!

So, I came across this 'mini reverse cone curling wand' by "Plugged-In".  And if you are unfamiliar with the tapered clipless curling wand, its one of the "newer" (but not really anymore) hair styling tools out there.  The reversed cone curling wand is exactly what the name describes.  It's simply the original curling wand revered/flipped around.  I thought that this would be a great addition to my hair styling tools.  Little did I know, I should have gotten the original curling wand, instead of the reversed curling wand.  Reason being, it doesn't make it any easier to style your hair.  I thought, since the curling wand was already flipped; its PERFECT!  Because you want the wider end of the wand at the root of your hair.  It saves me, from having to do that odd reach around technique that you have to do with the regular curling wand and flip it upside-down...WRONG!  I wasn't thinking properly that day...lol.  So when I opened it up to test it out.  Ugh!  That's when I realized,  I can't curl my hair without running into my other arm...OMG!  Although, it is good for styling your friends hair.  But for styling your own, I would suggest go with the original design.  I know, it is my own fault though. lol  You live and learn I guess.  But I do still love this hair tool!  But I'm probably going to purchase the original curling wand as well.  Then I will have both, and I can do a comparison!  Hey!  Maybe my mind will change, once I try out the regular one... XD

Plugged-In Mini Reverse Cone Curling Wand Review:

Pros:

*Heats up fast!
*Heats up to 400f
*Light weight
*Ceramic and tourmaline technology
*Pretty in PINK! ;)
*Swivel cord
*Hanging hook
*Travel size
*Cool tip, so no burnt fingers. :)
*Comes with heat protecting finger glove (for even more finger protection!)
*Has an Indicator Light
*Plastic counter rest, located between reversed wand & pink handle.
*Works well for shorter hair
*Leaves hair soft and shiny

When using this tool, it was quite easy and painless. :)  I love the curls you get from this tool.  I'm glad I now have this tool to add to my collection of hair tools.  Plus, it is so cute!  It gets the job done right and fast!  I held my hair around the curling wand for 5 sec, and the results were perfect!   I wasn't even trying, it was just a quick test run.  And I got the results, shown in the photo below.  Pretty impressive I must say!
It's my own preference, that it not be a reversed cone when styling my own hair.  But everyone is different.  But some of you out there might want to know, and appreciate that little shared knowledge. ;)

Cons:

*No heat setting dial
*Wand is slippery, causing hair to slip and slide
*Reversed cone (more of a preference opinion for me)
*Short wand, not as useful for those with longer hair (But remember this one is the mini travel size one)

The curling wand only has an on and off switch, so you can't set the temperature from 200-400f.  Once it's turned on, it heats up to the max heat of 400f.  It doesn't have this option, because it is the mini version of the curling wand.  The regular size one has a heat setting dial.  So I was aware of this "issue" when purchasing it.  The rod size works fine with my hair length.  But for those with longer hair past the shoulders, I would suggest getting the regular size one.  Unless you really want a smaller travel size curling wand, and you don't mind that it is a bit short.

Before - Straight

After - Curled

All-in-all, I would recommend this tool to friends and whom ever else is interested in purchasing a reverse cone curling wand. ;)

China Glaze 2012 Summer Neons!?! Get it ON!!!

OMG!  I CAN'T WAIT, to get the new China Glaze Summer Neons Collection for 2012!!!  It is PERFECT for the summer!!  It puts me in the summer mood! I love it!!  And great news...the colours are now available!!!  They were release just recently to the public.

These colours have more of a matte shimmer finish to them.  I personally like a more glossy finish, better then a matte finish.  Thank goodness for "Top coat" nail polish!

I also liked China Glaze's 2010 Poolside Collection, which are different from the 2012 summer neons collection.  The poolside collection colours were a bright creme finish no shimmer.  Even though polishes may look the same at a quick glance.  No colour is ever the same. ;)  Even China Glaze's 2011 Island Escape collection.  Some of the colours in that collection were a bright shimmer finish.  But still not exactly the same colour.  Which means, I must get this collection & add it to my nail polish wall ASAP! Muah hahaha XD
